One of hardest challenges for people opening a new website is boosting initial traffic in order to attract most visitors as possible for initial phases. Having a well known social profile can help a new website to promote its name and reach million of people in a few time.
With this goal in mind, a powerful hand can be given by some free web platforms born to be social exchange squares. The most famous free service is probably like4like.
What is like4like
Below is reported how Like4like describes itself:
“IS A NETWORK THAT WILL HELP YOU GROW YOUR SOCIAL PRESENCE FOR FREE.
– WE ALLOW YOU TO LOOK AND CHOOSE WHO YOU WANT TO LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, FOLLOW, VIEW, CIRCLE, HIT, SHARE AND SKIP THOSE WHO YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN.
– WE DO NOT SELL LIKES, SUBSCRIBES, FRIENDS, FOLLOWERS, VIEWS, HITS, CIRCLES AND SHARES.
– WE ABIDE BY TWITTERS RULES, FACEBOOKS POLICIES, GOOGLE CONDITIONS, ETC…
– WE WILL NEVER REQUEST FOR USERNAMES OR PASSWORDS OF YOUR SOCIAL NETWORK ACCOUNTS AND WILL NEVER POST, TWEET OR UPDATE STATUS FROM YOUR ACCOUNTS.
– WE HAVE A STRICT NO BOT, NO MACRO, AND NO AUTOMATION POLICY.”
Like4like is a credit-based social media exchange: each user has number of credits which can be used for obtaining likes, followers, shares etc on a variety of social circuits (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) or can be simply converted in website traffic. Users set at URL inserting the value of credit associated to the single like, follow our share that will be detracted from its account. The higher the value of credit associated, the faster likes/shares/followers will arrive, the faster user credit will decrease.
What is interesting is the fact that credits can be earned giving like, sharing links, following other users or visiting other websites with the same mechanism. Credits can also be acquired paying packages inside the site.
Another interestig feature is that Like4like fights some practices of “unliking”, refunding credits to users that have used credit for likes that have been removed after a while.
That said, after compiled registration form (go to like4like home page, click register and insert th few info required – username, password and email address) you can login and access your main panel.
We’ll earn our first credits by liking a facebook photo. In your menù bar, that will appear like the following:
Click Social Media Exchange. Now you will be redirected to you earning dashboard:
Click on Facebook likes:
Ok. Now, the value below each link indicates the credits you earn liking that link. Icon near the “Like” label shows you if that link requires a photo like, a comment like or a page/profile like. We’ll use the first (photo) like link which allow us to earn 9 credits. Be aware:
- once inserted the like, you must wait about 2-3 seconds in order to receive your credits
- links appears to me not working when used on mobile devices which redirect facebook page directly on your app instead of your internet browser
Click on like link:
a popup window will open with the photo to like:
Click on like button, wait about 3 seconds and close the window. Now, back to you like4like page, in the right side of the page you should have your credits increased of what earned:
In the same way, from menu bar click “Add And Manage Pages”.
the you will be redirected to a page similar to the earning one:
I’ll use credits to acquire followers for one of my website facebook page (freshoutlets.co).
Click on “Facebook Follows”:
Compile the bottom filed in picture with your Facebook Url (in my case will be my facebook page URL “http://www.facebook.com/freshoutlets.co“), a memo Link Description (in my case “Freshoutlets Facebook Page”) and select the number of credits that you will give for each follower applying (in my case 9). Remember what said: the higher the value of credit associated, the faster likes/shares/followers will arrive, the faster your credit will decrease.
Here belo how appears my form compiled:
Once compiled, click “Add URL” and your action will appear on top section ad stats will go on while followers will apply your request:
Achieving followers/likers by like4like (or other social media exchange platforms) isn’t the definitive way to substitute a structured digital marketing strategy. People involved by these platforms are more interested in receiving feedbacks on their pages than following your one, so they hardly become your most reliable audience. Benefits of boosting your social page with Social Media Exchange are still discussed over the web.
Finally, we can summarize in the following:
CONs – followers/likers gained from social exchange platforms are not expected to be very active for you after a like or a share. Users could also unlike your page after receving its credits.
PROs – anyway, usefull to boost your new website popularity. Some platforms (like4like is one of these) bring to you real users interactions instead than bots. Some platforms (like4like is one of these) refunds you (or tries to) of your credits after “unlikes”.
