Great news from our friends in Raspberry PI Foundation! As for the title, the awaited Raspberry PI 4 has finally arrived. This new board can now give more power to our Raspberry Pi Projects.

More CPU Power
The new Broadcom BCM2711, Quad core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz assures more power to the new board, in comparison to the previous Broadcom BCM2837B0 quad-core A53 (ARMv8) 64-bit @ 1.4GHz.
The A72 processor is more focused on performances, even if it runs at a similar frequency than the A53. On the other hand, it is less energy efficient. So the quality of power supply now can have more influence on Pi work.

RPI 4 uses LPDDR4-2400 SDRAM instead of RPI 3 LPDDR2 SDRAM. This brings higher peak throughput which is useful for memory hungry applications. The new RPI4 presents also a news on memory: you can buy the board in 3 different memory configurations (1GB, 2GB and 4GB), which permit users to choose the one that best fits its needs.

Similarly to its brother, Raspberry Pi 4 comes with Gigabit Ethernet, along with onboard wireless networking and Bluetooth. The previous Bluetooth 4.2 (Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)) has been upgraded with a Bluetooth 5.0 (BLE) connection.
The new Raspberry Pi 4 has upgraded USB capacity: the two USB 3.0 ports can assure data transfer faster than previous model. Behind this, there are also two USB 2.0 ports assuring the 4 USB interfaces. The previous board has only 4x USB 2.0 ports.
Raspberry Pi 4 maintains standard 40 pin GPIO header (fully backwards compatible with previous boards).
Also camera connection is still present, to allow projects including videosurveillance, videoconferencing, etc.
RPI 4 also includes a surprise regarding HDMI: this model includes 2 Micro HDMI ports, supporting up to 2x 4k displays. This can be a real advantage for those people wanting to extend a desktop environment to a second display or to realize a fantastic Media Center.
